Eggs, Eggs, Eggs, Eggs

We were so excited today to find 4 eggs in our chicken coop this morning! We have six chickens and have had one laying eggs for the last 6 weeks. We were getting pretty nervous that we would have to get new chicks in the spring. Now at least we know that 4 of the 6 are laying. We can hope for six to lay, but that will be in the future, we hope. Now if they will just keep it up that would be great.

Christmas Snow Storm Aftermath 2008

As you can see, we got about 12" of snow from this Christmas Day Storm. This is the next morning. Brian is using our jumbo snow blower to clear the driveway.

Blowing snow over 30' away! It is so cool to watch.

The kids got into it by helping clear off the cars. There was so much snow that they just climbed up on top to clear it off.

Christmas 2008

You can David here with all of his stuff. Those are night vision goggles on his head. They are as real as they get for kids. He loves to wear them all of the time. Also in the picture is a banana chair with wireless sound, a Nintendo DS, a GameCube game, posters, posters to color and some other odds and ends.

Here is Thomas with his stuff for Christmas. He couldn't have as much as the other kids, because they don't allow it at the group home. He got some small hand held games, a football, some posters to hang on the wall, some models, a calendar that has a new paper airplane for each day, and some music.

Emile was in HEAVEN with all of her stuff. Her insane parents got her a guitar, drums, and a keyboard. She also recieved some puppies, a medical kit, and a barbie. Her most favorite gift was a tote full of dress up stuff (see pic below).

Brittany laid all of her stuff out so you can see it very well in this pic. She got a Hannah Montana house (NOT a Barbie house), a Nintendo DS, music, a teddy bear (which she collects) and some other house furniture. She is having to learn the hard way how to use her DS the right way. She has already lost it once.

This pic of Emilie shows that she is all decked out in her new dress up clothes. The pose and everything is her to a T. She had something on all day. It was cute.

Christmas was good this year. The kids all loved their gifts. We had Brian's family here, it ended up for 3 days because of the storm. Look for pics of the storm to come. We had lots of fun playing games, watching videos, and having lots of yummy food. It was good to spend time with the family. My girlfriend from Alaska came the day before Christmas. Her name is MaryAlyn. It was fun to catch up with her and learn more about her family. They are getting as big as my family! Thomas was able to come up for Christmas day. He had a little bit of fun, but it wasn't all fun. He did pretty good at controlling himself for this visit.
Heidi and I took Thomas home on Christmas night. WHAT A STORM we traveled through! It was very scary! We took mom's car and it was not a good idea. Her tires are not good for traveling through the snow, her windshield wipers kept accumulating snow and we couldn't see anything. We ended up staying in Brigham City that night, because the weather was so bad. The next morning we bought tire chains so we could go over the canyon and make it home. It was quite an adventure.
Brian surprised me with his gift to me. He bought me a signed Simon Dewy print. It is the woman at the well. I was so touched that I cried. I sure do love that man!!!!!
Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

Brittany is 14!!!

For Brittany's birthday she chose to go to IHOP for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meal and it was fun to go out together. When we got home we had cake and icecream. Brittany opened her presents and LOVED LOVED every single one of them. We got her nail polish, remover, hair bands, brush, music cd, necklace, watch, and other "girlie" things. We was so excited that she went straight to her room to start using everything. She has listened to her cd about a million times already. She is excited to start a new year one year older. My how time flies.

We are going to give this a try

I will try to do this blog thing! I guess I do have just a few minutes each week that will allow me to post new info for the family to read. I will give it a little while and see how it goes. Who knows, I may even have David do some of it for his writing assignments. That actually sounds like a good idea.
